An Investigation for the Friction Torque of a Tapered Roller Bearing Considering the Geometric Homogeneity of Rollers

The geometric homogeneity of rollers, namely the dimension and shape deviations among rollers in a roller bearing, is one most important manufacturing errors. However, to best authors’ knowledge, no specified investigation has been carried out on effects friction torque tapered bearings (TRBs). By introducing diameter deviation distribution form with deviation, this study presents mathematic model reveal TRBs. although having only minimal influence overall acting rings, can lead significant increase slide force between individual inner raceway. comparing value shows maximum sliding impact raceway more pronounced under light load conditions. above-mentioned comparisons conclusions be used formulating machining error criteria for TRB rollers.
